Tracking development of the campaign---New poll, VA's superdelegate petition and looking back to Iowa

Yesterday the drama in the political scene was sucked up in the Petraeus Hearings where the staging of three Presidential candidates were being played out. Nothing is going to be done about Iraq except posturing until after the inauguration of the new President and Congress. Phil Donahue on MSNBC has a good saying, how many young men and woman's lives are going to be sacrificed for old men in Washington attempting to "save face."

Today another poll in PA demonstrates that the race is closing as it is showing Clinton's lead has fallen to 5 points (Clinton 47% to Obama 42%) in a study done by Strategic Vision. Their tracking has Clinton losing two points and Obama gaining one since last week. With 2 weeks remaining Obama is closing the gap to make the race what will be considered a toss-up, for what was deemed a must big win for Clinton.

In Virginia there is superdelegate development where party leaders passed a petition to the 10 uncommitted VA superdelegates to close in behind Obama. Taken with North Carolina and the other ten or so unofficial endorsements this would place almost 30 superdelegates about to endorse Obama and possibly pulling him ahead in that delegate race.

Finally there is an interesting article on Politico.com by Roger Simon in where did the race turn for Clinton. He states it was Iowa, where by finishing 3rd Clinton made her inevitable election not so and propelled Obama into a legitimate candidate. Well duh...but is a good review.
